The Prequels were very flawed overall, poor execution and really needed a great screen writer and director to pull off Lucas's ideas. Revenge of the Sith is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me though. I might not like much about the prequels but ROTS had some great action sequences and good pacing/cinematography combined with some really satisfying moments. And Ian Mcdiarmid's performance was just so much fun to watch. a flawed but entertaining experience.
"everyone who is displeased with the newer films just wanted more of Luke, Leia,Han, Chewbacca and the droids flying around in the Millennium Falcon."
Incorrect, most of us wanted a satisfying passing of the torch to a new generation that was as likable as the characters you mention. some of us actually would have preferred setting it hundreds of years after the events of Return and have all the originals pass on into historical figures or something.
The one thing we did not want was to have the old characters back in such away that it completely undermines their progression from the trilogy and makes them has-beens (Han), incompetent leaders (Leia), or complete failures (Luke) just so they can be out shined in every way by the new more modern PC sensitive characters.
