Can you feel the hype?

reply

No. Most people (with the exception of die hard fans who will like anything that disney puts out) don't care. Too much damage has been done to the franchise. Disney broke that which could not be broken.

reply

I'm a die hard fan and I know others. Disney broke Star Wars. Hype is at zero.

reply

This probably works in Di$ney's favor and they know it considering the lack of effort they've put into trying to generate early hype. They've shown very little about the film to avoid scrutiny & are saving the hype machine for the last minute. The lower the expectations the easier it is for them to coast by on another cheap fan service filled(Hey! Remember that!?) mediocre explosion fest.

Lol. Nobody on Earth gives a shit about this. That said, does true hype even exist for movies anymore like it did in the old days?

reply

Are you talking about manufactured hype? Like where people on podcasts gush over every new thing that comes around and are obviously being paid to do so?

reply

Ugh. That shit makes me gag.

reply

Like Kevin Smith?

reply

Exactly like Kevin Smith. The guy can’t make a good movie so I guess he’s being hired as a walking advertisement now.

reply

Do you think anyone except his most ardent fans believe a thing he says? The second he starts foaming at the mouth over a movie, I just laugh, and think, what a shill!

reply

He seems to always have a steady stream of teenagers that love him. Back in the 90’s, I was a huge fan but once I became an adult, his movies stopped being funny. I noticed he was still wearing backwards caps and talking like he was 18. I was quick to leave him behind but it seemed like the younger guys still enjoyed him. That is his niche apparently. Teenagers.

reply

It is funny that you do not give a shit... But still visits the movie chat board to comment;-)

reply

Well who doesn’t like watching a train wreck? It’s fascinating.

reply

Well it sounds like you do give a shit...

reply

Yes. I have millions of doll hairs at stake.

reply

yeah keep lying to yourself;-)

reply

Yay? My thought is: Let's just get this over with. Abrams just delivers mindless empty calories every single time. We'll have forgotten about this thing before we exit the theater.

reply

It's a franchise in freefall and in crisis commercially.

Going to be a great movie and will make Disney a ton of money from all the people seeing it

In a couple of months a proper trailer and posters will be released. The Hype Begins!

The trailer and posters will be dissected and analyzed by hundreds of peoples. The Troll Babies will bitch and whine. More trailers and preview clips. Repeat!

Then cometh the mid-December red-carpet premiere and short reviews. Big-spoilery plot leak on Reddit. Then the critic reviews and box office projections.

Opening day on Dec 18 for seven privileged markets. Most of the world the next day. Troll Babies claim they will never, ever watch it in a million years (they're lying).
