Dead franchise. Next!

I like(d) SW but this stuff is dead and still being milked for marrow. Yuck!

reply

Mmm. Marrow.

reply

Star wars is not dead. why do ppl keep saying that?

Star wars is alive and better then ever!!!

reply

It' alive, but it's not better than ever...it peaked with Empire Strikes Back, and it's never coming back.

reply

yes it will come back.

reply

With what? The Sequel Trilogy sucks and is irredeemable already. How do you expect it to come back?

reply

TROS will make Star wars great again.

reply

A-HA!!!!

So you agree!

These Disney Star Wars films SO FAR...

Lacklustre first outing for Disney is all.

They will learn from this failure not to cast such an uncharismatic, BUTT UGLY cast around an innocent desert flower.

Obviously some idiot thinks โ€œuglyโ€ is in.

This is Hollywood...it deserves a sense of grandeur and GLAMOUR.

How some retard thought Adam Driver- Keanu Reevesโ€™ ugly half-brother could carry a franchise as a Sith Lord...is beyond me.

Seriously...he looks like an ugly Keanu Reeves.

reply

no they are not!!!

like how is "MCU" dead?

reply

Time travel introduced, so no stakes if anything can be undone

reply

but the last movie it released made 2.7 billion.

reply

Dead creativity, not financially

reply

Is that how you see it, Ghostrider? If it makes pots of money, then it's not dead? Stupid.

reply

That was the final chapter in a very popular 20 movies plot arc. Nobody wanted to miss it. Now it's finally done.

I don't see the next franchise plot arc having the same success at all.

reply

they have been saying that for many years, since avengers, "its down hill for Marvel now" trust me, there is still enough characters to start a new phase that will include Xmen , F4 and many others.

reply

How on earth is the MCU dead considering the last movie it released made 2.7 billion? are you just purposely acting stupid?

reply

I think he's stupid.

reply

Money is not a measure of creative quality. It can make a lot of money and still be a creative train wreck.

reply

Money never crossed my mind, most of the MCU films have been really , Infitiniy War and End Game were fantastic CBM.

reply

Also

MIB
POTC

to be continued....

reply

Star Wars is definitely a franchise in crisis. We won't know if it is truly "dead" as a brand until we see how The Rise of Skywalker performs this Christmas. If it can at least get near the gross of The Last Jedi there may still be "hope". If it suffers another precipitous drop like TLJ experienced after The Force Awakens...well...

reply

In crisis??? 4 movies released, 4.5 billion in box office takings and you think its in crisis? So can the same be said about the DCEU? and many other franchises?

reply

You again.

I'm sorry...you really come off as dim-witted. I don't want to be mean but Good God, man.

Yes...Star Wars is in crisis. The trajectory of box office is HORRIBLE. The Last Jedi made 700 million LESS than The Force Awakens. The Last Star Wars film couldn't even crack 400 million worldwide in a 300 million production budget.

DC films just released its highest grossing film(Aquaman) just 6 months ago, in contrast.

reply

Learn to read queen, are you telling me franchise that has made 4.5 billion with 4 movies is in crisis ? Shazam made similar to solo? And you have the nerve to say I'm dim witted, what a joke you are .

reply

Let me break it down for you queen, DCEU has released 7 movies that has generated 5.2 billion at the BO, new star wars , 4 movies released , 4.7 billion , if you think star wars is in crisis then by your logic , DCEU is and your precious WB , when TROS has ended its run , it would of eclipsed DCEU after 5 movies , boom, and there goes the dynamite, herath the end of the lesson.

reply

Look up the word "trajectory", ok?

reply

You mean , how you successfully predicted the trajectory for captain marvel, shazam, SLOP2, to name a small few, so how much is the rise of Skywalker tracking? How much did it make ?

reply

What about shazam ? How did dceu got from 1 billion to 390 million? How was the trajectory there? Face it queen, you know shit, you guess and you always come out as a laughing stock, joke of the board.

reply

I agree, it is dead. It was killed is how I would describe it. It is just a clustrf**k now. I am not going to see Episode IX.

reply

Indeed. Sad but true.

Yes, TLJ made a lot of money. It also made a lot *less* money than TFA, had the biggest 2nd week drop of any Star Wars movie, and contributed to Solo flopping - the first time any SW movie did so.

Disney had no vision for the franchise other than "milk" and it's shown.

reply

Id say its on life support, it could be DOA once TROS comes out depending on the audience reaction. the only way for it to be resurrected is if TROS and the Mandalorian are massive hits with the paying public.

RIP Star Wars 2017, raped and murdered in cold blood by Rian Johnson
