Why are Game of Thrones fans allowed to be disapointed but Star Wars fans not?

So Game of Thrones wraps up. A lot of fans a pissed off, disappointed, complaining about the story and the quality of the show lately.

Fair enough. They can voice their opinion. They get a pass.

Same with Star Wars, yet the Star Wars fans get shamed and lambasted as crying, salty man babies who hate women and are all Trump supporters.

Why is this?

reply

Because you are. If you prefer Disney Star Wars over all other Star Wars, then you're STUPID.

reply

Cause female characters were screwed over in GoT by incompetent writers, it was ok when just Male characters getting shit on in SW.

reply

Yeah you're right. We never hear any complaints about Star Wars. Why are those complaints not allowed?

Quite honestly I've never seen GOT and it doesn't interest me. I've no opinions on the show. But the complexion of the complaints and the way they've come about is rather familiar.

reply

"Game of Thrones" fans don't give a rat's ass what's allowed or not. We just go ahead.

reply

Ive been getting shamed for both.

reply

Because many of the SW whiners are "salty man babies who hate women and are Trump supporters."

SW fans complaints are mainly based on their many personal biases. They almost make me want to defend crappy Disney SW.

GOT fans aren't making stupid comments about the actors' race or ethnicity, or gender or insulting the political party of the creators or other fans. They haven't sent insults or death threats to the actors. The GOT criticism is re: to the writing in season 8. In other words, GOT fans are acting more mature than SW fans.

BTW, I'm a disappointed GOT and SW fan.

reply

Lol literally what the op was talking about.

Someone says 'I think Rey should have had more time committed to character development' ... you read 'I hate 100% of women'.

The vast majority of SW criticisms are deliberately misinterpreted to generate false outrage by uneducated rabid morons.

reply

Another sock puppet troll bites the dust.

reply

Lol not the case at all ;).

reply

So says "deleted".

reply

Indeed :)

reply

"deleted" is 100% right...

The vast majority of SW criticisms are deliberately misinterpreted to generate false outrage by uneducated rabid morons.

reply

Can we trust someone who is "deleted"?

reply

"

Lol, this. Indeed he kinda contradicted himself with that post. I would have been agreeing with him if , by the end, he wouldn't had proven OP right.

reply

Our space ships are running out of gasoline! hahahaha, the last jedi was just ridiculous

reply

Horrible script! As if a space vehicle out of fuel would stop in space. Who are the bigger morons.? Johnson or the Disney idiots who greenlit this turd?

reply

It depends on what you hate about the new Star Wars. If you hate The Last Jedi for ditching all the plot points set up by The Force Awakens without accomplishing anything then there's no hatred of women required. If you hate The Force Awakens because it had a woman as the lead then there might be an issue.

I didn't think The Force Awakens was a landmark achievement for film or anything but it felt like they did a pretty good job bringing back the world of Star Wars... something the prequels did not do. It was a simple story but then again so was the original trilogy. The Last Jedi took that world and crapped all over it like it was trying to compete with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing for the Oscar for most subverted expectations. Subversion for the sake of subversion is stupid no matter how you slice it. At least Game of Thrones kept some ounce of relevance in its 8th season. I'll happily take D&D over Rian Johnson. We need to do everything we can to keep that guy as far away from a developed franchise as possible.

reply

Agreed, the problem with subverting expectations as well and your movie relying on it so much is that you can only do it once on first viewing. It makes for a horrible rewatch because every direction Rian takes the story in is just to set up his big "subvert expectations" moments and it's one of the dumbest forms of storytelling. You're not making a dispensable episode of TV where you watch once and move on with your life, you're making a Star Wars movie that's supposed to be watched and enjoyed over and over again.

He clearly had the most important piece in the trilogy as well, the connecting middle chapter and he killed the franchise dead in it's tracks. What an absolute troll.

reply

Corporate synergy. People are expected to be loyal to Disney no matter what they do. Otherwise, they are trolled.
