some people think the emperor won't be in TROS and they only using his laugh and he'll be in the movie for 4 seconds.
if this is true, then that's stupid to tease a OT character and used for only his Laugh and for 4 seconds.
JJ Abrams confirmed the Emperor will be in the movie and the actor was on set and he shot some scenes for the film.
His appearance is a hologram message 👍

My guess is that Rey/Reys parents are cloned descendants of Anakin created by the emporer and he will be a force ghost or video/hologram/flashback.

shareGenerally most would agree with you but in works that are now non cannon there were several examples of sith becoming force ghosts or dark spirits. Given that its disneys ball they can pretty much make anything they want happen (ala leia surviving and flying in the vacuum of space or Kylo stopping laser blasts).
I do think its more likely to be a flashback or a vision though.
I think somehow it will end giving the old characters a new lease on life. Then they'll just recast them for future films, much like James Bond.
