Guardians 3 will do more $ than TROS

Guardians 2 did about 900m in 2017 and wasn't even that good but after Endgame MCU is bigger than ever (Far From Home gave Spidey his first 1b movie) and GOTG3 will be following on from EG more than other MCUs as its all space fantasy like EG so will do 1b easy probably alot more like 1.3-1.5b (especially if Thor be in it too)

Its just funny to think the 3rd in the series of a SW knock off and a film no one thought would come to much in 2014, is obviously going to outgross the 3rd SW sequel/wrap up of the entire saga!

Its like Star Wars has become the Star Trek to MCUs Star Wars!

Guardians in a lot of ways fit the bill as the Star Wars for a new generation. If they make Guardians 3 right, and wisely stick Thor in there, they're gonna have one of the highest grossing films in the MCU.

I don't think so. Guardians only have one great movie, the first one. That's far from enough. Guardians 2 made a lot of movie because of how good the first one was.

You have one great movie, a second one that's just regular. And the Thor franchise with all the political agenda injected.

Nope, this is not the next Star Wars.

Well we could split hairs about that till the cows come home. I agree that G2 isn't actually a good movie. It's more like supplemental material for the first film. But it's absolutely loaded with character development that really fleshed out our heroes. As a middle chapter, when later viewed as a trilogy, I think it will be seen in a fairer light.

I don't think so. Dont' get me wrong, GotG is my favorite movie in the Marvel franchise, far above the rest of them. Gunn is one of my favorite directors right now. I have seen Two Nice Guys several times, and it's (in my opinion) the best buddy movie in the last decade.

That said, nope, the second one is not a good movie. Not even considering it as a middle chapter in a trilogy.

Middle chapters use to give the best. The characters already established, and they don't need to set up the final confrontation, it's the part when the creator can give room to his own creativity. The best trilogies peak in the second chapter: Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars movie, The Two Towers is the best Lord of the Rings one. When the second chapters fails, that's no good.

It's not a rule written in stone. Die Hard has a weak second chapter and a wonderful third one (for example). But that was the 80s, there were much more freedom. Gunn was free in the first chapter, because everybody thought it wouldn't really succeed. Now... there's too much executive control for somebody like him to shine.

You know I said something similar a few years ago. It is like the feel of the Guardians films is what Star Wars Sequels should have been. Maybe tone down on the humor a little bit; but the story flow, the characters and their dynamic with one another, the acceptable talents and abilities of the characters and fleshed out story.

In comparison, the way you do a parent reveal is who they did it with Star Lord not with how it was done for Rey.

GOTG are lame cringe comedies. Everyone who likes them are Tide pod eating morons.
