How can Disney be stopped from making more SW movies and TV shows?

They destroyed this amazing franchise, isn't there a way through which it can be taken and given to the people who actually care about Star Wars?

reply

They didn’t destroy it at all , just because a small movie minority didn’t like it doesn’t mean it’s destroyed, look further a field and you will see most were satisfied with the trilogy

reply

"Small movie minority" that spends the most money.

The casual fans you are championing don't buy the toys, won't see the movie multiple times, doesn't go to comic cons, doesn't buy every limited edition figure that is released. In short the casual fan doesn't spend money.

Disney Star Wars has been nothing but a disaster. You can like them all you want, more power to you but you cannot deny that if Disney had actually done it properly, the movies would have made more money, the toys would sell and so on, you get the picture.

Disney has made money but no where near what they should have. As someone else posted, this movie should have sleepwalked to $2 billion. It's currently still about $200 million (just going by numbers on box office mojo) short of $1 billion. Come on, for a movie that is supposedy the end of the "Skywalker Saga" (by the way that was the end of Return of Jedi) that is absolutely shocking.

So by saying "most" currently that is less than half of the people that went to see Force Awakens, so that is not currently "most" but less than half.

Again you can like it all you want, i love some truely awful movies but don't make out that this is a success.

reply

Its hardly destroyed though is it , that was my point , it will still make over a billion, TFA set the bar way high , no Star Wars movie will get near 2 billion regardless of the fans response

reply

How on earth can you say it’s a disaster ? They made billions from merch alone in 2015 to 2017 , plus there’s licensing, the movies , haha cuckoo, I’m sure Disney are very happy with the outcome so far

reply

Site your source for "biliions from merch". that is an absolutely hilarious figure.

The parks are failing miserably to the point that they may even be repurposed to another IP.

The toys do not sell. THEY DO NOT SELL. So i don't know where youa re getting billions, that figure is laughable.
"They made billions from merch alone in 2015 to 2017", those same toys that i have repeatabl said are gathering dust and cannot even be sold for a dollar in a dollar store, billions, that is hilarious.

Christmas eve in my local Disney store = no toys but had tons of Marvel and Disney prncess toys.

Disney Star Wars toys do not sell, i don't know how many times that needs repeating. Go check out your local stores and see them on clearance gathering dust. Original trilogy toys just sell because lets be honest who the hell wants to play with Rose Tico when you can play with Princess Leia.

I will repeat over and over. You can like it all you want but don't make out it has been a success. Disney Star Wars is a disaster.

So the CEO of Disney is happy with ovies making less each time and 1 that lost money. Amusement parks that cost 1 Billion each losing money. Toys that don't sell, toys and merch on clearace. Yeh i'm sure there having meetings about how well t is going, don't be stupid, come on, you can't be that nieve.

"Nielsen's report on Thursday didn't forecast future sales, but Wall Street analysts expect that $5 billion-$6 billion in merchandise will be sold worldwide in the first year after Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens opens. For perspective, Walt Disney sold $5 billion in Frozen merchandise in its last fiscal year."

So the moral of the story is , yes toys arent selling aswell but 2015 to 2017 they made a shit load off merch

reply

You've clearly already go your head in your own fantasy world and/or up your ass. Why not just take that to it's logical conclusion and imagine that there are no more Star Wars movies. And imagine that you've nothing to say about them, since they don't exist. Then everyone's happy.

reply

Yes, don't pay for the movies, don't buy merchandise, and don't watch their programming so that they can't sell advertising.

reply

I was thinking more at nationalizing the Star Wars franchise, in many countries when the government wants to save an important asset that is ruined by a private company, that asset is simply confiscated and becomes public...

reply

Haha, dude , go outside and get some fresh air and never ever go near any Star Wars movies ever again , you are absolutely off on a different planet.

reply

I'm fine with that.

Normally brainwashed people would scream 'SOCIALISM!' and 'THAT'S NOT FREE MARKET CAPATALISM!', but since we don't have a free market, we have the criminals in private industry helped by the criminals in government, it's not like it really matters.

reply

So who decides the stories ? The government ? Public ? What if people hate those movies , what then ? Hahaha

reply

Who cares at this point?

Form a story group from the brigades of retards working at TSA for all I care.

If Star Wars enters the public domain anyone could then make their own Star Wars movies, shows and video games, it will be just like other public domain stuff such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, etc. - this will end the damaging monopoly of Disney.

Hey, if it helps castrate and starve the mouse, it's all good.
