The movie is incredibly poorly paced and rushes from exposition to exposition to fill in all the ridiculous story elements he's no capable of actually showing. Yet, he wastes time on random characters like GG and Dominic who are trivial to the actual story. GG blows up and Po is upset. They NEVER had a meaningful scene together, but his death is THE thing that caused Po to spiral into self-doubt.
Frankly, rather than introducing yet another useless character, I would have preferred Rose get more lines since Johnson wasted so much time on her character in the last movie. At least it would have made this less a disjointed mess than it was.
