What new force powers were introduced here?

Force healing - I only saw this from Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian just 2 days earlier. Can heal wounds or bring someone back from the dead.
Force Telekinesis 2.0 - passing solid objects from one place to another or physically interacting with someone at a different location.
Force soul/power transfer - the force life of a person can be extracted and combined to make the extractor live again or become more powerful.

Did I miss any? Were any of these powers in the previous films? If so can you remind me of where they were used? And what did you think of these new force powers?

Force healing - not without precedent; in the EU there were Jedi healers, but they were trained for it almost exclusively, and it was extremely taxing on the healer. Reviving someone dead or near dead would likely kill the healer; JJ at least got that part right. But to have characters suddenly develop the power is still an ass-pull.

Force telekinesis - Vader choked an underling through the monitor so the physical interaction over a distance gets a pass. Force teleporting objects, though -- also ass-pull.

Force soul transfer - kind of / sort of, in the Old Republic games a Sith could sometimes forcibly bind force ghosts to themselves to increase their own power. Not quite like the "life force sucking" as depicted in RoS though.

The passing of objects took place in The Last Jedi, and seems to be something that only happened between Ren and Rey. I don't recall seeing anyone else do it, ever. Even the dice Luke passed Leia turned out to be as much an illusion as was Luke.

The transfer of power seemed more like Palpatine using the Ren and Rey as a conduit for the Force, and it seemed less like he stole their power and more like he used their three-way connection, and the fact that they are the three most powerful living beings Force-wise, to sort of heal himself using Force energy.

And honestly, it's a movie about a magic Force that gives people superpowers, so you either accept it or you don't. When Luke used The Force to magically make his light saber fly to his hand in Empire, we just accepted it with an "oh the Force can do that, too" attitude, as we did we each subsequent reveal of a new Force ability.

what objects were passed in the last jedi? what scene(s) was it? I don't recall that at the moment.

Good analysis though.

I recall that when Rey and Ren could see one another, I believe Rey was on the island and a wave crashed over her and Ren got splashed, and we saw either saw him suddenly doused, or water in his chambers afterwards. I may be incorrect, and will have to rewatch the scene(s) in question to be certain, but it is my recollection that there was a demonstrated physical connection between them, that allowed surrounding objects to move between their respective locations.

ah yes the ocean water splashed onto him from where Rey was and he wipes it off and looks at it. Looks like he is wondering how this is happening as well.

Moving objects with the force was established in the first movie. True that it's a "magic Force" but too many new powers manifesting too quickly makes them seem like deus ex machinas and tougher to accept. I think RoS overstepped in this regard.

Vader is certainly moving windpipes in ANH...

interesting about the games. maybe i should play a couple of them.

Jedi Academy had "Force drain," in which you take away another character's life essence to boost your life meter.
