Is Episode IX going Time Travel? (and it looks like it)

Avengers went that way. Star Trek went that way. Have they screwed Star Wars so much that they're making a Time Travel Fix too? And after watching the video, I'd say it completely seems they'll do.

Actually, imagine the possibilities.

They could rewrite the original trilogy and make it more Diversitarian and politically correct!! Isn't it wonderful? They could get rid of those disgusting white guys in the Rebellion that appear in the original trilogy and start again, making it racially correct!! :-)

The time travel theory starts in 18:23 and it's based in the trailer and the article in Variety. The link takes directly to the moment it's explained.

PS Last year there was an April's Fools joke in Daily Express saying that Star Wars would use Time Travel to fix the new trilogy mess.

This April's Fools article could very well end up being prophetic...

Time Travel is a Star wars movie? HELLL NOOOO!!! Time Travel didn't happen in the other star wars movies, so why should it happen in this movie?

For the same reason there shouldn't be time travel in Lord of the Rings: it doesn't fit the universe at all.

Star Wars is a fantasy tale of knights and princesses. You have swordfights, and good wizards, and monsters, and the evil wizard in his evil castle. And you have the young Frodo, I mean Luke, that goes on an journey with the good wizard Gandalf, I mean Obi-Wan, who will die to be reborn as the White Wizard, I mean the Force Ghost, to carry the One Ring, I mean the Death Star Planes, and will travel to Lands of Evil entering Isengoth, I mean the Death Star.

Star Wars has been often more associated to Fantasy genre than to SciFi. It's Fantasy disguised as SciFi. And in general, using Time Travel (or 'it was all a dream', or anything else like that) to fix a screenwriting problem feels cheap. But in a fantasy universe... it's much worse.

yes you're right. Time Travel doesn't fit the star wars universe/franchise.

Seems likely. At least it's the crap writing a hack like JJ would come up with, especially if another hack (by the name of Rian) has written him into a corner he's unable to get out of otherwise.

Who would be your pick screen and story writer?

its true

all of it

It wouldn't make any difference to me. IMHO they ruined the future of the franchise with the awful TLJ.
