Why did Luke train Rey if he already knew she was a Palpatine?

Didn’t he worry about her turning to the dark side?

reply

He did not train her, he told her a couple of useless things for her to go away. Leia sent her and chewie was with her, i think Luke trusts his sister that much.

reply

He did not train her

I couldn't help but to remember this ^_^

reply

Luke just give some hobo wisdom which didn't help her much if at all. Leia was the one that trained her before she force killed herself after force flying in space back to the ship.

reply

Luke was always working for the dark side. From the beginning. I can't believe how many people haven't realized this. It's clear if you go back and watch the original three. Anakin was just going about his business but Luke had to go in and turn him against the Emperor.

reply

Luke was working for the dark side? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?

reply

I’m pretty sure that post was tongue-in-cheek

reply

did Luke Leia and Han even know she was Palpatines granddaughter?

reply

Yes. They knew apparently lol.

I think a better question is "how did Luke and Leia know Rey was a Palpatine in the first place"?

There's nothing whatsoever in TFA and TLJ showing they knew who Rey was or where she came from.

Luke was even startled when he asked Rey where she came from in TLJ.

Just more plot holes in the sequel trilogy.

reply

Question should be : if he knew, why didn't he kill her on Skeletor Island?

reply

He tried to kill her in her sleep, but he tripped and fell.

reply

when did Luke tried to kill Rey in her sleep? I don't remember that part.

reply

it's in the super duper special edition

reply

Man I absolutely hated how they cgi'd that moof milk bottle under Luke's foot in the Special Edition to justify his tripping...

reply

i know right!

reply

the super duper special edition?? you made that up.

reply

no i didn't - it's also known as the trevorrow-abrams extended cut

reply

As a Palpatato Luke thought he could peel, cut, mash, boil, fry and bake her. But he was wrong, she was too salty for that !
