still cant quite believe they brought back the Emperor

I mean the Emperor is such an OT/PT character it was kind of jarring seeing him like he was in ROTJ/ROTS in TROS interacting with the likes of Rey and Kylo, and talking/fighting them at the end..

It was abit unreal.. kind of like 'am I dreaming this shit?'..(bit like the first viewing of TFA..seeing the yellow scroll come up [STAR WARS] then saying 'Episode VII'.. a very surreal experience in that it something you thought youd never ever see.. like 'this really shouldn't be happening.. but it is.. f'kin Episode VII')

They don't have much choice. Snoke was killed off and who would fear Kylo Ren? The guy is even comical at times. They don't have time to create a new villain so they have to use an old one. Palpatine is the only one available.

reply

Your right. Ren is a joke and couldn't be taken serious as the main villain. In theory Snoke could have been brought back just as easy as Palpatine, but I'm glad they went with Palpatine

reply

Just bring back Snoke since he's a clone and there should be an endless supply of him.

I'm not sure why Kylo couldn't be the new villain in charge of a tyranny, but nobody cares since the economy is strong. The Rebels want to overthrow him, but this time there is resistance to them.

reply

Snoke was defeated. That means he was a loser, who would fear a loser?

reply

Snoke, clone 1 was defeated. Improved Snoke clone 2 would've been a badass. Compare how Terminator 2 was an upgrade to Terminator 1.

reply

If Snoke is sort of manufactured product it is also very hard to fear someone like that. And it becomes comical if Sith can be manufactured in large quantities.

reply

It should have been his son or Darth Plageus.

reply

Not enough time for character development.

reply

They should have developed either his son or Plageus in episode 7

reply

If it were planned in the beginning then it would definitely work.

reply

Plageus would have probably worked best as the master villain starting in episode 7. Maybe they could have brought into the picture a force ghost version of Palpatine and have Plageus finish him off once and for all. Snoke was a waste of time

reply

It was so surreal! The Emperor, Rey, and Kylo Ren together on screen. My mind was especially blown when Rey was blocking his force lightning with her lightsabers

reply

Lazy writing.

reply

A scene with between Luke and the emperor would have been nice. All in all, Disney screwed up the entire trilogy. Luke, Leia and Han should have had a scene together in episode 7 at the very least

reply

This was by design.

reply

I expected him to say "I'm baaaaaaaack!"

reply

Disney Star Wars is basically big-budget bad fan fiction. We haven't seen anything yet.

reply

FYI I have to be Palpatine's biggest fan, I just adore him!

And even I thought that bringing him back was lazy and silly.
