Disney doesn’t care about the adult who loved the original trilogy as a child

This crap is for kids now. Little kids and 20 year olds eat this stuff up, let them enjoy it. The movie makes absolutely no sense to me but I’m having sex now.

reply

I truly don't care what they do. I didn't need more Star Wars movies. The saga was done and wrapped up, with hours and hours of Clone Wars to boot. It was plenty for me. It's just a damn shame they butchered the cuts of the OT. A lot of fans I talk to today have only seen those versions, they don't even know.

reply

Is Clone Wars that good? I keep hearing people mention it. I was an adult and pretty much checked-out by Return of the Jedi, but for some reason in my old age have gotten more interested in this stuff. Maybe I'll track it down and take a looksee.

It's absolutely f'n amazing an in my opinion, peak Star Wars, everything the saga was always meant to be. Lot of folks can't get passed the animation, lot of folks don't like that it's sometimes cutesy. But the character development and serial story telling is absolutely top notch. I used to hate the prequel trilogy, but the Clone Wars does everything those movies failed to do, fills in all the holes, provides all necessary character development and backstory. And you really, really see how Anakin was slowly pushed into the Dark Side. And what a bunch of total dicks the Jedi were. Plus it has Ahsoka, the best character in the whole franchise. It's incredibly inventive. And often very action packed. The aliens and worlds they develop is really something else. There's a huge cast of characters that come and go and the world building is very immersive.

Those bastards ! They killed Kenny !

The Kathleen Branch of Disney never really cared about carrying on the tradition of Star Wars. All that bitch cared about was making money and getting revenge on all the men who she worked under all these years. I hope she gets what's coming to her, preferably soon.

By the way, most people wouldn't brag about something as personal as bragging about having sex on a movie message board. Intelligent people keep such a random, personal subject private for a reason.

reply

Who said I was intelligent in the first place? I’ll be the first to admit I’m a nomad savage outlaw who does not care about properness or what rules and restrictions society places on us. I don’t care who is president. I don’t care what pc thing the sensitives come up with next. I don’t care about equality and people’s rights. In the end I’m always going to do what I want, when and where I want.

reply

At least you're honest about it. Not many people have the courage to say what they really feel.

reply

I’ll go out of way for children and animals.

reply

Damn ! And I was just beginning to like you...

reply

I laughed hard

reply

I thought it was funny. I laughed out loud. It's called a joke AmeriGirl. Being an American and also a girl probably makes humour like that incomprehensilbe for you. Loosen up.

reply

You want sex humor, this isn't the place to go for it. Now if you were insulting JJ's sexuality, I'd happily laugh at that.

reply

Let me clear it up for you: she's a raging Trump supporter over on the politics board of this site.

No further elaboration needed.

It has always been for kids. This is a segment from a UK children's television show in 1980:

reply

That's excellent.

Very interesting when Mark Hamill says a young Luke Skywalker, aged 5-6, will appear in the 3rd of the prequels. I wonder what the storyline of that particular version would have been...

reply

The original trilogy was for teenagers and young adults. Just take a look at who was on the movie line.

It wasn't unusual to have toys for younger viewers even if a movie or TV show was targeting adults.

reply

i bet someone at disney saw those pictures and was like: WE NEED THAT FRANCHISE

reply

I thought half the problem that it was like the originals which were also for kids ?

reply

Yup and I was a kid then. That was my point.

reply

I've always considered the originals to be more like family-friendly adventure films, in a similar vein to Indiana Jones, rather than being strictly for children.

reply

The original trilogy is the only Star Wars that I will ever watch again. The rest of this is just awful. It is amazing that you are typing this and having sex at the same time. That takes talent.

reply

Once you’ve mastered sex and cooking bacon, the rest is all downhill.

reply

All that splattering...

reply

so you liked a movie made for kids when you were a kid, but now you dont like movies for kids anymore and blame disney???
youre not as adult as you want to be.

reply

Who’s blaming Disney? My point was to the nerds always crying about movies they liked when they were kids. Thought that was quite obvious though.

reply

Its literally in your headline smh Its quite obvious youre one of those nerds

reply

The brain is slow in this one. May the sarcasm be with you.

reply

sarcasm? is that your backdoor excuse to switch positions when called out?

reply

Are you that slow? You’re an idiot.

reply

Not as slow as you. But enjoy the sex with your hand dude.

reply

I could see how your moms lips could be mistaken for a hand.

reply

A "your mom" reference, really? Now i even doubt youre past 20 yrs old lmao

reply

Did your parents ever have kids that lived?

reply

did anything you said ever made sense? dude, you seriously need treatment. go see a doctor

reply

Let’s go back and forth for year. Okay? Btw, 2001: A Space Odyssey is pure pretentious space garbage.

reply

I can see why you dont like intellectual and artful movies.

reply

Cus I’m not a pretend know it all douche bag. I bet you drive a Prius and drink red wine with cheese and crackers.

reply

you judge people based on their car? wow dude, you really must be like 16.

in fact, i dont drink at all and i dont have a car. cheese and crackers sounds fine though.

reply

I judge on status, money, looks...you name it. I don’t waste my time with bottom dwellers. In the real world I probably wouldn’t even notice you.

reply

in the real world i wouldnt want to be noticed by emptyheads

reply

What about potheads?

reply

most of the time they overlap / those dont notice anything anymore

reply

While I agree that this is their mode of thinking, I must also reiterate that it's a STUPID mode of thinking for Disney to have. Why? Because most kids nowadays don't give two shits about Star Wars.

They are alienating the base of fans that made this series stand the test of time in order to cater to an uninterested child audience and casuals. That's it.
