He shows up a couple times and I don't even think he had a name. Did his star fall that hard or is he a hard-core fan?

Yeah, he took me out of the movie, seeing a Hobbit amongst the Resistance. It was like some bizarre Star Wars / Lord of the Rings crossover.

I just kind of thought he might do something. He had maybe two lines that had no importance at all.
