So he kills Leia. As expected.

The trailer showed him basically shooting her ship. It must be the somewhat lame way Leia dies.

What do you think? Are you spoiled or haven't we seen anything yet?

reply

I hope her final line will be either

A. Evacuate? In our moment of triumph?

Or simply

B. It's a trap!

Holy crap *facepalm*

I don't even know what to say when I see someone ranting like this. I don't know what to say because I don't associate with people who spout the kind of crap that you're spouting here.

reply

I don't associate with people who spout stuff like that either. I'm just regurgitating SJW outrage and speculating that's what they would say.

Landofree, I for one appreciated your respons for what it is, i.e. a witty take on the ongoing discussions on boards like this one 😃👍

Cheers! 😃👍

I don't think he's going to do it. Plus I'm thinking they edited two completely different scenes together. That or I'm thinking he might go to do it, but he waits too long and doesn't see a Resistance fighter closing in and they start firing at him. That causes him to flee and maybe go after that fighter instead.

But the trailer has a few misleading things in it. Just look at the final part. Looks like two completely different scenes edited together. Kylo has destruction behind him and Rey doesn't. And if you listen closely to Rey's voice, there is a little bit of an echo to her voice like she is in a cave. She's probably talking to Luke or Maz and they are sitting next to a fire.

I think something similar might be going on with the stuff between Kylo and Leia. Maybe he's just attacking a random Resistance ship and is a little hesitant about it since he's unsure about what side he really wants to be on. But they edited in Leia to make it seem like he is going to kill her but the Leia footage is from an entirely different part of the movie. But if it is the same scene, re-read what I already mentioned.

Leia was supposed to be in Episode 9 and all her scenes were filmed and I believe they didn't go back to do reshoots or change the story because of Carrie Fisher dying. So that further has me convinced the trailer is misleading.

I never thought of Rey coming in for the save. Maybe the scene happens during the big fight at the end and that sets up Round 2 between Rey and Kylo Ren for a lightsaber duel. I just thought it would be Resistance Pilot #1 or something that comes in for the save and then Kylo turns his attention to them and allows Kylo to get another kill in.

I can see that being another possibility. It can be anyone that comes in for the save. But I also heard/read that Leia's exit is pretty emotional and will have everyone crying. Maybe Kylo does kill her. Or maybe they'll do something similar to what they did with Paul Walker's character at the end of Furious 7. But I'm overall going with that someone comes in for the save and stops Kylo, or maybe Kylo just simply can't do it.

I was thinking more like sending her off to deal with other battles that will take place off screen in Episode 9. But as she leaving, do something similar to what they did for Paul Walker in Furious 7. Or not. They could just leave it as all the (good) characters watching her ship leave and then taking off into hyperspace and have some emotional goodbye. Then once she is gone, everyone goes back to preparing for the final fight against Snoke and First Order. Then throughout Episode 9, characters can mention what Leia is doing off screen and how she is helping the Resistance win the war.

I like this idea. I bet Disney likes this too.

Thanks Ralph you fucking asshole. I dont care if you're just speculating , you seem to have put some pieces together , and then put them IN THE SUBJECT LINE of a post . You fucking dick. I didnt even go to the star wars part of MC to get that spoiler , I just clicked on "whats trending" and got a huge spoiler smack in the face . WANKER.

reply

It was pretty clear from the trailer - but then again 90% of the TFA trailer was false ...

reply

Don't overreact. There's no spoiler. You were basically told that Kylo Ren is in the movie and Leia too. The rest is of course speculation. Have you never seen the cut and paste they do?
What we all know is that Carrie Fisher sadly passed away. That is the horrible spoiler.

reply

Maybe, but I think not. I doubt they'd give it away like that in the trailer so they probably spliced two scenes together that aren't related to throw the audience off.

reply

Oh I have a feeling Leia's going to show up in IX, somehow, some way.

reply

I think they should have planned to kill off Leia from square one in this movie. It makes more sense plot wise to kill one of the original three characters in each film - Han dying in 7, Leia dying in 8 and Luke dying in 9.

reply

I don’t think so. They’ve actually admitted that her big movie was supposed to be movie 9. Just makes it even worse that she’s gone. 🙁 Han had 7, Luke has 8, and Leia was supposed to have nine. They have a lot of magic to do, to make this work!

reply

That is exactly my point. 9 was supposed to be her movie, but she's gone. She should have been more prominent in 8 and been killed off near the end to avoid this debacle. If the writers had any foresight, they would have known Fisher was in the worst health and would be the most likely to die in real life before the trilogy was finished.

reply

Well sure, in hindsite. However, you can’t go around creating movies expecting your actors to kick the bucket on you. Just not practical. 🤷🏻‍♀️

reply

I hope they do kill her off. Her performance in TFA was tired. I’ll always appreciate her ep 4-6 rendition of the character, but if your heart, mind, body aren’t up to the task, then it’s time to stick a fork in it.

reply

Ouch, man!

reply

I agree the scene where Han and Leia have to spoon feed us a bunch of exposition about Kylo Ren was painfully awful.

reply

That being said, I’ll try to keep an open mind for TLJ. Who knows maybe she’ll surprise us all with her last performance.

reply

Maybe Leia shoots him first. That would be funny.
