Would you see it if...

Disney realized they were losing a lot of the fans and interest in the saga and that this movie just cast aside everything the Force Awakens was setting up and also didn't handle the iconic character of Luke in a way that pleased most fans and therefore they just re-did it.

In essence they treated TLJ as if it never happened, brought back Mark Hamill and just redid a complete new movie that tied directly to the end of The Force Awakens. They would have had to have Leia die off screen or mention her passing away and had Rey handing the light saber to Luke and off we go.

What would you think of this?

It doesn't seem that there is anywhere to really go. There aren't any cliffhangers and unanswered questions left for the 9th film. Johnson just threw out everything JJ set up and he completely changed the legend of Luke and killed him off. What is there drawing people to see the last film? Nothing really.

The OT will always be "it" for me, with everything else being extra. So sure, why not have a do-over? It's all just for entertainment anyway.
