Not without its problems, but overall excellent.

This film has some pacing issues, and a couple anti-climactic moments, but the film's strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. With so many of the other directors either getting the boot or quitting, it's great to see that Rian Johnson (arguably the best director of the bunch) got to make a movie that's expressly his while still being a Star Wars film through and through.

Luke especially is done perfectly here, which is no small feat. As the most important character in the original trilogy, if not the franchise as a whole, a single misstep could have derailed the entire thing, but the writing and performance both not only meet expectations but exceed them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Johnson does for his stand alone trilogy.

I bet you liked TFA.

Holds up better on a second viewing. I'm still not a fan of the casino sequence, and I still want to know more about Snoke, but a lot of the pacing issues I had the first time didn't strike me as hard this time. There are still a few more small gripes I have but that would just be nitpicking to even bring them up.

And again I still absolutely love how they handled Luke.
