Jessica should have died and Avery shouldn't have felt sorry for it

They kind of made it a happy ending for the drama. She didn't have a pulse for like a minute and said her organs were failing and all of a sudden she wakes up like nothing happened. Also Avery, she was extremely obsessed and had like a mental disorder where it looks like she's the only person who email Jessica and probably 20x a day texted, emailed, and facebook'd her. If she had such remorse that she showed at the end, I think she would have shown it a little bit when she was bullying her. That is, if they wanted to show a realistic portrayal of what bad bullying is. Movie seems like a cop out but I guess they do have to appeal to their 12 year old girl audiences.

Do you mean the very ending seems like a cop out?

reply

No I think averys reaction is realistic. Only a sociopath wouldn't have felt bad watching themselves do all that *beep* I think it's very easy for teens to become bullies and not realize it,especially in averys case where no one ever said anything to her about it.

Only a sociopath would spam someone with e-mails and tormenting them daily telling them to kill themselves. I honestly don't find it believable that Avery who had spent months co platelet unprovoked telling someone to kill themselves would suddenly become so overcome with guilt and regret

reply

You are so right. It would take a heck of a lot more to elicit change out of the total sociopath Avery was. Sociopaths can change behavior but rarely change heart.

reply

Possible she was sending those emails during class in front of her friends to get a 'laugh.'
A way to torment her from across a room. But if she just did it on her own time, she'd be pure evil.

Jessica was at home with Brian on some of the occasions texts were received so you have to assume some of it (more than "the friends" knew about) was done by herself.

reply

Youre right the ending is horrible and unrealistic for her to go from coma and failing organs to consious. If the ending were a bit more realistic Jessica would die from organ failure and Avery would feel guilt, but not publicly and wholeheartedly address it for an audience.
