Vashti

As portrayed in this movie, Vashti is a stinkingly rotten spoiled, air-headed bitch.
And the actress is almost as bad an actor as King Xerxes.
She's called a "Queen," but how many "Queens" may Xerxes have had in his harem?

The Biblical Vashti wasn't Persian; she was Assyrian, the daughter of King Belshazzar, and the great-granddaughter of King Nebuchadnezzar.

The Biblical account makes her out as willful, and so does the movie. But Esther herself suggests that dancing before a banquet hall full of drunken men would have shamed Vashti, be she queen, concubine or whatever. She stood up for herself; Esther took on the role of meek, submissive wife.

Who's the real heroine here?

How about Vashti: The Movie?
