Glad to see Michael Richards working again but...

this just looks awful. The promos are not funny, and they really don't tell you what the show is about. I had to come to imdb to find out what the premise is, and now that I do know the show sounds even worse. I guess that's why they left it out of the commercials.

And I'm not hating on Kirstie Alley because she can be really good, but she seems to always gravitate toward annoying characters these days, and I just don't get that. Play someone likable, please.

"They really don't tell you what the show is about."

Maybe the show is about Michael Richards last big show that he was on. Well...Nothing. It can work. But I don't see it after seeing the first episode, if that's what they are going for this doesn't come close to Seinfeld. Seinfeld(although about nothing) could have been called "friends(if not already taken)" and that would have worked. And the individual episodes had funny story lines. This show seems to be about nothing period. haha.

I did not realize it was possible for someone not to know that Seinfeld came before Friends. Wow. Seinfeld was definitely an influence for Friends

reply

Oh, I guess I could have figured that out if I thought about it. In the 90's I was pretty young as it was so....yeah. Seinfeld sounds better than "Friends" anyways. I was just using it as an example that it wasn't really about "nothing." You could argue that Friends was about nothing if you say Seinfeld was, that was my main point.

Yeah Michael, I agree with you. Kirstie Alley should indeed, at least, play a likeable character....there's enough to dislike already about her 62 year old, 250 lbs frame.
As for Michael Richards all he's trying to do is recreate the magic of Kramer but it simply won't work. I'm afraid he'll spoil the great memories I have from Seinfeld if I keep watching this sorry new "Kirstie" show. So....I wont!

Kind of hateful isn't it?It never seizes to surprise me how cruel and thoughtless people are on imdb. You wouldn't be brave enough to say something like that in real life. She plays a shallow character who in time will see the error of her ways as I hope you will one day.

And you're wrong about Richards. The magic of Kramer is still alive. If you don't think so, DON'T WATCH.

I don't know where you live but I live in California. In the USA we have something called "freedom of speech" that allows us to express our thoughts without censorship of any kind. You are completely entitled to your own points of view...just as I am to mine. My depiction of Kirstie Alley that you called "cruel and thoughtless" is 100% true and accurate in my opinion (which we've already established I have a right to have and express). You know, when people place themselves in the public eye they're positioning themselves to receive all kinds of accolades....but criticism as well! I simply intensely dislike this new Kirstie show and the title character itself.
And no....I won't be changing my ways anytime soon.
As for your recommendation that I shouldn't watch the show if I don't care for it...you should have read the end of my post. I am NOT watching!!!
One last thing: next time something never "seizes" to surprise you....maybe you should spell it "ceases" to surprise you. You know...just so we won't waste time trying to translate what you meant!
