"THE WIND FROM NOWHERE" in which it is posited that the said wind arrives and keeps growing stronger-could have been 500mph or more-i recall that they had build concrete bunkers that barely held their own against the wind, but acted to force a drag on the wind so that it eventually slowed down and stopped, after destroying Great Britain-from my memory 40 years back
