I thought the film was really frekin creepy and well done. I don't get why these films never see the light of day at the theaters. This was better than any horror film I've seen since Sinister.
" It Follows "was terrible and so was everything else I've seen lately.
This film although not the most original was still very effective and worked in the scare department without those cheap tricks and such. The end was really crazy and definitely didn't dissapoint like most horror . Deserves way higher than a 5.2.

I agree, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this film creeped under my skin. I'm not a fan of all those Insidious, It Follows, Conjuring, etc movies that rely on jump scares and painfully predictable plots. The Canal was actually well thought out and nicely plotted, definitely deserves a higher rating than 5.2.
