The obvious 'issue' with Percival's theory.

Ok, so as I start writing this, I know I'm taking it too seriously. There are obvious plot reasons Percy couldn't do what I'm going to mention - he had to be 'cursed' to live, so that the plot could develop and reach its conclusion.

But seriously - the only ways the guy has tried to kill himself or have himself killed are ways that, however unlikely, can backfire. People have survived falls off buildings, being shot in the head, being hit by cards, ingesting too much medication, and so on. Admittedly, those methods work for most people, but how could anyone of reasonable intelligence - which Percy seems to be - buy into the theory without escalating the suicide attempts to the point where survival would be nothing short of miraculous?

Three obvious methods which would leave no doubt: slitting wrists and being pretty much bled dry (Steven could be with him in a remote, secluded place, and watch over him to make sure no-one interferes), being insanely sedated and being decapitated, or being insanely sedated and being dissolved in an acid bath (the insane sedation for mercy purposes).

Extreme, of course, but at the start of the movie his running premise was that he had to not want to die, before he could die - which makes little sense, as at that point he wouldn't want to die, which is a much worse time for suicide than when he wants to die. I mean, if his theory is proven right and he survives while headless... well, that's going to suck. But it's also going to be bloody supernatural. And if his theory is proven wrong and he just needed to be a bit more 'thorough' in his suicide attempts, well, he gets to die at a more ideal time than if he was happy and wanting to live.

I thought the same! How could he survive decapitation? How is it possible that none of them had this idea? Even when one of them suggested to be more creative. But, if we follow the logic of the film, a theory that fate, destiny exists, it makes perfect sense that everything had to happen the way it did, so both could see why they were guilty and be punished before dying, ie What goes around, comes around.
