Thoughts from early screening

I was pleasantly surprised by the film. It was a big darker and edgier than most other faith based films and didn't beat the audience over the head with the Christian message.

I completely agree!! There seems to be a new trend of edgier, more mature, "christian" films as of late, such as Ragamuffin and Home Run, although those were far preachier than The Song. For a long time the only faith-based movies being made were written so as not to offend even the most sheltered of fundamentalists. The Song is a nice change of pace, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially with all great the narration. This is coming from a former-christian-turned-atheist mind you; so that should say something.
