I liked it too but then again, I really like Kinnear and will pretty much watch him in anything. Am worried that the ratings won't be good as it was very much like a cable show as opposed to a network show and probably would be better off on FX because expectations would be lower.

Im a big fan of the original and had every intention of watching but a bit worried. Good to know the pilot sounds decent at least! I got 30 mins to go!

Eh. I'm 50-50 about it. His issues and screw-ups seemed to overshadow the actual 'legal' part of the story. And I liked the actual case he was working on. I think there are way too many problems in one episode. There wasn't one scene without a problem; it was like watching a scary movie and knowing someone is waiting behind the door. It's like 'oh good grief what now'. And I'm not really sure if I actually like the character which means I don't know if I care what happens to him. But I like the supporting characters. They did a good job of bringing in the right mix. Their relationships with him and their tolerance (or lack of) of his antics is what made it watchable.
This has kept the Australian sense of humor of its original and is a comedy in much the same way that Shameless is. The characters are always deeply flawed but as things progress I have faith that they will give us reasons to root for him despite his self destructive nature.
