Did Daniel kill himself or was it an accident?

shareI would like to believe it was accidental. He just wanted to be closer to his mother. But he certainly didn't have the drug tolerance that his mother had, and that is what killed him. It was an awful tragedy, and the fact that danny seemed like such a sweet, unspoiled kid, made it even sadder.

I always personally believed it was an accident. However the movie made it seem like it was suicide. The way he rushes over to her purse and takes a handful of pills and the positions himself in the chair. Like he wanted to hurt her on purpose, like it was planned. I read that investigators weren't sure where he got the pills from. I don't remember hearing ever that it was from her purse.

That's what left me gobsmacked as well. It did seem odd that he would overdose in the hospital right after she had her baby....he was damaged goods as well, and I guess it's not unheard of that he could do such a thing.
I knew she'd never survive losing him, though, and unfortunately, I was proved correct.
I've never heard then or since that he committed suicide. As I recall, he had 3 different drugs in his system and one was methodone which I believe was what Anna Nicole was taking. I think he was taking drugs, whether they be prescription or not and he took methodone from Anna Nicole's bottles in the room and the drugs together killed him. He certainly had to have his own issues, but I didn't hear he had huge drug problems or that he was suicidal. It was a horrible accident.
shareCertain facts had to be assumed for the sake of the movie. There were no witnesses in the room to confirm where Daniel got the pills..but if they were the same pills anna nicole had in her possession than it's not to hard to imagine that he got them from her.

While methadone IS used to treat heroin/morphine addiction, it is also widely used recreationally as well. For someone who is not using heroin, methadone gets the user an intensely strong opiate high; in fact the high can be more intense than street grade heroin. So Daniel could easily have been simply 'partying' with the drug. And you ask how the son of Anna Nicole Smith could obtain methadone?? I think the answer to that question is quite obvious... Anyway, suicide or not, the death of Daniel Smith is one of Hollywoods saddest tragedies; he was just so young, and seemed so utterly innocent. when I heard he had died it made me sick.

Truth is more dangerous than fiction. It almost seems like a made up story. Killing himself or dying by an overdose it's a real tragedy! Very bizarre for him to die there in the hospital after Anna had Dannilyn.
shareI have always thought he was drugged (killed) by Howard K. Stern. Howard K. Stern wanted Danny out of the way. I do not think Danny would have intentionally nor accidentally killed himself.
shareAn accident is not something you plan. If Howard K Stern wanted Danny dead, he could have done it in many ways and why would he want Danny out of the way? His biggest problem was that DannieLynn wasn't his child and Larry Birkhead wasn't going away. Danny's death was an accidental overdose.
shareIn both movies they show Daniel taking red capsules out of her purse in the hospital, I was confused where they got this info because I never heard of this, usually there has to be some shread of evidence before they put this in a movie (or so I thought).
shareHoward Stern killed him so he could get Anna's fortune (Daniel was heir and sole beneficiary to her estate), Howard thought Anna would get the old man's money and was hoping to get rid of both Daniel and Anna so he could have all that money to himself...that's why he married Anna.
shareAnd taking her and the baby to the Islands was his big plan to avoid the United States. That didn't last long and finally that baby girl went to live with the only parent she has now. It's a shame that she'll never get a chance to see her but at least Dannielynn have someone decent in her life who will tell her stories about her mother without being nasty about it.

It was stated in 2007 during his autopsy he commited suicide....
