the amish are famous for their shaker furniture and their carpentry work, the amish women make amazing quilts, they are famous for the sho-fly pies and molasses they make but instead they do a show with a bunch of wannabe actors and actresses pretending to be in the amish underworld. its just sad what happened to discovery channel.
Because there really are "Amish Craftsmen"... it wouldn't fit in with DISUCKORY's other programming of scripted, staged, faked bullspit... it's a shame what has happened to most of Cable TV...
If you deflect the topic of the thread from the show to me, our discussion is over

That's just it. The real Amish are plain people living plain lives. You will hardly find too many people willing to tune into that with anticipation every week. So someone came up with a clever idea to make the Amish more "dangerous". What can I say, it worked, providing that you have enough of an imagination to convince yourself temporarily that it's real
As to the OP's question. I think that the real Amish living as they are expected, would never participate in a show of this sort, even a legitimate version. The Amish in this series were actually born into the Amish community, but that's where the similarity between actual practicing Amish, and this group of B Amish actors ends.
