It's fantastic! I hope it gets picked up by a network. Found it via a High Times Magazine article.

If you haven't heard, the series is now sponsored by Vimeo. Starting with the upcoming cycle, you will now have to pay for episodes. I'm really happy the creators did this, for a few reasons:

1. Most importantly- Run-time: As a web series, the creators can make each episode exactly as long as it needs to be. The episode lengths are heavily varied, at least relative to TV and other web series. "Stevie" clocks in under 6 minutes, while "Rachel" (one of the later episodes) clocks in around 13 min. I really enjoy this. The lengths just feel so right. High Maintenance absolutely nails the short-long format. Only the vignettes on Louie (FX) are comparable, at least from what I've seen. Could the creators of High Maintence fill a 22 min. time slot with 2-3 episodes? Probably. But there would inevitably be some regretful cutting and padding. By staying online, they can continue to experiment with length without any editing sacrifices. They have editorial freedom. I'm excited to see how this series will evolve.

2. Price: I don't want to pay for cable. There are great shows on TV, but the absolute garbage shows outnumber them 20 to 1. I'm more than willing to pay a reasonable price for individually packaged shows. When the next cycle of HM comes out on Vimeo, I will pay for the episodes without hesitation. If they offer purchase of the previous episodes, I might buy them, too, just to support the creators. With Vimeo, they're probably getting a great share of the profits.

3. Pacing: Here's where I get speculative. The creators of this web series like to take their time. We get a few high-quality episodes every 6 months or so. I'm totally fine with this. One of the great things about High Maintenance is that it's not forced at all. I'm guessing that the stories, characters, and sets are largely inspired by real life. What if the creators signed a 6 episode deal (22min each) with HBO or FX? At the very least, that's 12 episodes, way more than one "cycle." Could the show maintain its authenticity at that pace? I don't know. I don't work in film, and I don't know the creators. With Vimeo, though, it seems like they'll be able to continue setting their own pace.

Yes.
Amazing show vs Few comments! This is not right! I am sure many people like me watched and loved the free episodes. Where is all those people?
Plus another thing I wonder is: any movie or tv show pops up on torrent sites as soon as they're released and how come no one is uploading HM? Especially now that it's not free anymore
