I loved it
Hey guys
I see this one hasn't been much of a hit with the general public...
But it was with me!
I loved the look of the film. The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous; many of the desert landscape shots look like they belong in a painting. The scene where Viggo's character gets up in the morning to search for his daughter was breathtaking.
And speaking of the man himself, he was in top form here, giving a splendid performance as the desperate man searching for his daughter.
I liked the simple story, I didn't find it plotless, and appreciated that it mostly relied on visual storytelling.
The surreal elements, subtle, but there, were really nice too. A few parts especially what occured in the last 20 minutes, felt like something out of a Lynch film (which is awesome)
But I can see why people wouldn't like this one. It's slow at times, and despite how gorgeous it looks, not the most engaging film.
I give it a 9/10 The aspect ratio was also pretty cool. It weirded me out a little at first but gradually I came to feel it suited the film perfectly.
