Should not even be classified as a doc

It looked like some TV special. Boring interviews. The only thing I enjoyed was the Elvis impersonator being called onto stage by Bruce. Most of the interviews were just run of the mill crap.

I am big Springsteen fan who loves his 70s and early 80s stuff the most , though I love selected songs from his later catalogs(never liked his transformation under the guidance of Landau into some pretentious folksy stuff which was fine for experimentation but got a little too obsessive in the 90s). His reedy folksy voice as he got older just grated on me and I am more a fan of his rock and R&B voice and i say this as someone who loves Nebraska and Darkness of the Edge of Town. So I am not just a Born to Run and Born in the USA fan. Anyway, I point this out that this doc works for fans who loved ALL of his work and overpraises ALL of his concerts as something magical(Such superlatives should be saved for his 1978 tour though he has been great in a lot of his concerts all the way to the early 2000s too). But I see people praise every freaking concert even when his energy is dwindling and his voice is shot as being just as great. Now if you are that kind of fan, this "doc" may be to your liking.

I thought I was one of the biggest Springsteen fans until I met more people who just come across as blind fanatics and make me a very casual fan by comparison.

^ Signs of life on the planet Earth!

I couldn't agree more. Everyone loves Bruce, but this "documentary" is the most boring piece of self-indulgent drivel I've ever seen.

A complete failure and not worth ay more of my time.

I wish it had been more like the recent "Beatles Stories." I found that much more interesting.

Its really something only fans would appreciate.

Its that man again!!

I'm from NJ. I've seen him 20+ times. I have actually dreamed about him. I'm a fan.

It was godawful. Some of those people really need to get a life.

There was the odd bit of obsessional fandom, but even then were hardly Trekkies with OCD. On the whole Bruce fans on this film were just balanced normal people. Which I knew anyway.

Trekkies are in a league of their own.

when was the last time you saw springsteen live? i went to one of his shows last year after a 20+ year hiatus (stadium shows just aren't my thing) and his energy was still off the charts - especially since he's over 60 now - and the crowd ate it up. i was prepared to be disappointed, but it was still an excellent performance.

no, the recent material isn't as uniformly great as his first half dozen records, but that's a pretty impossible standard to hold to.

this movie, either you see yourself as one of the people interviewed, or you don't. i thought it was pretty charming.
