So the studio just dumped this in theatres, right?

It seems like the poor reception didn't give the studio much confidence. I did see a TV spot here and there, but the impression I got was there was little advertising for this and a lack of awareness generated. Did anyone see significant advertising for this? I knew more about "Edge of Seventeen" and "Bleed for This" coming out this weekend. I get that a story like this will be a harder sell than a more action-oriented war movie, but I'm still a bit surprised there wasn't more of a promotional push.

Once a film like this gets poor reviews it's a waste of money pouring money into a big marketing campaign.

The film had mixed reviews do to the visual element...the movie couldn't even be shown in the high format in the majority of theaters in the first place...remember people hated color tv and high definition when it first premiered...this was such a waste

It's the worst film that I saw all year and that includes that awful Batman V Superman. Hard to promote something this bad.

Bvs at least made money and had an audience even though most of people hated it. But $1m on a $44m budget is just diabolical. A few months ago this was an Oscar contender and look at the state of the film now.

I think the studio saw the final cut and knew the film was a dud.

It's that man again!!
