Biblically inaccurate

I watched the movie last night on Netflix. I found many elements of the film to be on point and definitely worth noting, such as the government's requiring citizens to take the Mark of the Beast and even their sales pitch on how beneficial it will be to the one who takes it.

Having said that, I am in complete disagreement with the notion that a person can have the Mark removed from their hands and still have hope of salvation.

Revelation 13 is clear that the taking of the Mark is a one-time event and, once done, cannot be undone. Anyone who takes the Mark forfeits his soul and faces judgment before God.

I'm now left with the question of why the filmmaker presented this untruth in the movie. I can only assume the following: 1) He doesn't know the Word of God with respect to this teaching, or 2) He didn't want to offend any non-believers who might not stick around for the entire film.

While the film presents an interesting look at what lies ahead, it falls short biblically. I give it 2.5 out of 5 points.

Thank you for reading. God bless you.

"A student keeps a journal while a one world government takes over the world. Years later, a soldier finds her journal and questions everything he believes."

If modern theologians would read THE SCRIPTURES and use proper historical, contextual and scriptural hermeneutics, they would question what they believed and movies like this wouldn't be made.

I disagree. I believe that if one is tricked or forced into receiving the Mark as they were in the film, there is always the opportunity to reject it and accept Christ. Jesus is all-loving and all-forgiving. But it has to be a true repentance, not just "OK, this Mark isn't getting me what I want, so I'll try God."

It can not be forced upon people. It has to be taken willingly. So some of them were forced to take the chip. You could say, those who were lied to and misinformed, might not have taken the chip if they knew the truth, so they weren't truly marked. But, since it's a chip implanted in the hand, anyone could dig it out. We don't know that they received salvation after they died.
