I've tried...I really have.

I've watched them all up to this episode and I so wanted to really like this series but at it's very best it passes the time and not much more.
There have been many comments on other boards about it's strong resemblence to Christie's stories and that it is set in the same time period.
That much is true except that it does seem to be stuck in her 'closed community, someone gets killed of and by a community member' rinse and repeat. Christie did move outside that sometimes.

But there are two trivial things that drive me mad about this series, one is the total absence of any chemistry between Puck and hubby.....he acts and looks like a brother not a newly wed. And she behaves like a sister.
Her relationship (deliberate I'm sure) with Christer has sexual tension bursting out at the seams.

The second thing is the smoking.....ok, I get it....more people in the past smoked than now, a lot more.
But for some reason all series set around this time appear to have to have as many people as possible smoking as often as possible.

That, in itself is vaguely irritating but the thing that really annoys is that so many actors clearly don't smoke at all and can't smoke realistically....this is noticeable (and in this series particularly so) and it is totally distracting once you notice and I have no idea why so many directors can't just leave it out...if they don't smoke don't make them... just don't.
