Why didn't he shoot the cop/husband when he shot the wife?
I can't understand why he didn't shoot the cop/husband when he shot the wife.

Why would he shoot the cop? He told Chloe he only shot the wife because she was "out of control" and the guy was in handcuffs... He's a criminal but he at least a distorted set of morals that he lives by.
shareSince he had the cop's gun and made Chloe hide it, I figured he shot the wife with the cop's gun so the cop would be blamed and people would think it was a domestic violence thing where the cop was involved with some bad people. The cop would have to explain why his wife was shot with his gun and why he was handcuffed.
Even if the cop said the killer took his gun, the new expensive TV in his cop vehicle would still make him look suspicious. hat probably why he ran and hid after he got himself lose.
