Seriously? I need to understand [spoilers]

Why didn't she take at least some of the money before the cops came? Seriously, wasn't that the whole damn point?

reply

She had the $50k that she took from the bag earlier. I guess she thought that was enough? I would've taken whatever didn't have blood all over it.

reply

Bryan Cranston's half was definitely in the car... They showed the enormous amount of money under the turtle's tank and she probably figured half of the money is more than enough to start over.

reply

Her half was in the black bag that wound up scattered, then in police custody. She took it after the cop died and before calling 911. She originally took only 50 k 1 pack. She didn't think Topo was going to give her half as she believed, so she took that as a consolation and because they took her money from the cabinet. The bag was 2,000 short because the cop bought the television so they took her 2300. It was only after the failed delivery and 4 dead criminals that Topo decided to give her half. The dirty cop took her half. I don't know where Topo's half was but probably in the car. The police wouldn't have known how much money was there to begin with or how it was supposed to be split. They thought the dirty cop got greedy and was planning on taking it all.

reply

If she had taken more it might make the cops suspicious of why so many people were killed over so little. Granted she could have hid it but they might keep a eye on her.

reply

She did take some of the money. She hid it in the turtle's aquarium that she took when she went away with her daughter. That's why she told the cop that the money in small bills wasn't hers. She gave them no reason to connect her to any of the crime because she knew she took some of the money.

reply

She was already totally connected to the crime and the murders, and the lone survivor/eyewitness.

I thought she should have reacted just the opposite on the 2300 bucks by taking it back from the cop, and profusely/weepingly thanking him for finding her entire life's savings. And then pointing at all the money these guys had, and why did they have to take her comparatively puny bankroll? Would have made her sound more legit and ethical, as well as clearly separating her 2300 dollars from all the illicit money.
