that turtle needed a bigger tank..

...and she could have stored more money!!

Yeah, exactly. Every time the turtle appeared on the screen, I was sure it was going to squeal "Let me out, let me out!". Poor thing.
Plus, I think it was supposed to be symbolical - it tried so hard to escape such a lousy and uncomfortable place, as were trying Chloe and her daughter.
Not a bad movie, but not great either. Cranston was mostly wasted in this one.

That turtle is a male red eared slider. It is semi aquatic. It is supposed to be in a large tank with water, and a heat lamp or it will get very sick especially in a cold town like that. She's both a *beep* reptile owner and the set designers or whoever decided to put a turtle in are dumb.

Sources: I have three RES turtles

The small tank is probably the reason for the otherwise unjustified low rating for this movie. There are many more animal rights people than you can shake a stick at.

Early to rise and early to bed makes a man healthy but socially dead.

reply

Exactly.

When I think about this movie the first thing that comes to mind is the turtle's little tank. And I'm not being ironic. It really is.

I don't know which kind of underlying message they tried to deliver, but they've succeeded.

reply

No it doesn't, that would ruin the symbolism.
