the last act is a complete mess. they added too much.

I Do like the movie for most of it, I liked the jokes and i liked dracula trying to make the boy become a vampire. That all was really nice and for the most part it flows.

But once the Boy's birthday party happens, the movie falls off the rails. it becomes a mess... Once the grandpa and Bela are introduced the movie just becomes very messy. The ending Almost ruins the entire thing for me.

Bela is annoying, he is not funny, the introduction of the grandpa vampire to meeting the other characters is too abrupt. They should have build it up more from the beginning,
Then when he finds out there are humans in the party and when Bela attacks to boy and the wolf girl, it just becomes a mess. the tone changes too much from dramatic to action to humor all over the place.
Everything is too loud and things are happening too quick

and then when everyone starts to beat up the bat demon creatures it became ridiculous and pointless. why would a little 5 year old be able to beat up all of the monsters like that? I KNOW it is just a kid's movie but it just for me ruins the ending.
that action sequence is just very unnecessary and doesnt' add anything to the story.

Yeah...feels like Hotel Transylvania (the franchise) is more suited for teens than children with the whole Human-Vampire marriage and children.
Movie was a plot mess, funny in some moments and tried-hard-at-being-funny at most.

The instantaneous transformation of Dennis strongly reminded me of Jack-Jack at the end of "The Incredibles".

okay , i can see that

I agree, also the beginning is too slow.

The middle makes up for it though, the whole road trip with the other monsters is a lot of fun.

It's not a classic, but it's still a fun watch.

The movie was fun but the ending ruins it because the climax is bad.

This is an old comment, but where you paying attention? The introduction of Great Grandpa (Vlad) was hardly abrupt. They were setting it up from the very first moments of the film.

They referenced "not inviting" him to the wedding because he wouldn't understand.

They referenced "not inviting" him to Dennis' 1st birthday because he wouldn't understand.

They referenced the possibility of taking Denis to him to "scare the fangs out of him."

How much more did you want?
