I liked it *spoiler*

The mildly autistic boy with a video camera as an excuse for it being filmied all the time was a bit forced, but the movie kept me on edge. Maybe not everyone got captured. There is some hope. What was a bit bad though was that the first scene spoiled the ending though. Instead of having some hope for escape, we just wait for the unavaitable. If I show this to anyone, I will not show the beginning.

But I believed in the footage. It felt real. Yes, the aliens looked a bit too stereotypical, but the power they possessed made it frightening, and made me believe in it. They probably look like that, since that what the reports says. And yes, that hillbilly shouldn't have made it as far as he did, but he gave some hope. The scene in the credits when the father is found and they say "we found another", made me think of that movie with Robert Patrick where that guy got back from being abducted, and seemed a bit used, but awww, happy ending after all. But wait a minute.. Wasn't their backs broken when people got beamed up? How could he be upstanding? The aliens probably fixed him with their advanced surgical skills, ok.

To sum it up, it got a lot of recognizible elements and take a couple of shortcuts here and there, but that's forgivable. I went the journey with the family, and I got scared. From childhood aliens has been on my top five list of scares, right next to tornadoes and dinosaurs, and I relived some of that fear in me. The found footage angle made it more real, and maybe I see this a bit from the eyes of a child (I'm 30), but it worked. I got scared. Thank you filmmakers. Please make more scary movies. I want more up-close horrors.
