Gregg Araki lite

I'm not sure the budget of this movie, but Tangerine, which was shot on an iphone looked better than it and cost a hell of a lot less.

The worst thing about this movie is the acting. I don't blame the actors though. I blame Landis for making them act so over the top that it's not funny. The big third act sword fight was just a trainwreck. The acting was painful to watch.

Landis as a writer has one HUGE flaw. He doesn't write likable characters. All of his characters sound exactly alike. If people aren't going to care about the characters, your movie is doomed.
