That sucks, they left some unanswered questions.

😠Ugh! Yep, Momoa, when asked about another season of THE RED ROAD at the Puerto Rico ComicCon, said the show was cancelled. So many unanswered questions. Thanks for leaving us hanging, Sundance!

I really liked this show. It's sad that I haven't even seen anything except postings here on it being canceled. I guess no one was watching. 😞

LOL, I meant that there was absolutely nothing on any of the major entertainment sites, like Entertainment Weekly, TVLine, DeadLine, TVGuide, even IMDB News. At the time, there wasn't even anything from Sundance. It's sad that it was basically announced via a tweet from Jason Momoa.

They should at least produce one more season. It's only 6 episodes a season.

reply

I wouldn't even mind one more episode; I don't even need a season. Just a 1-year fast forward to see who died, if Phillip went back to jail and how or if the contamination s/l was resolved.

Since over the decades, many shows have just been pulled without satisfactory conclusions, maybe the writers/producers should narrow the scope and write a complete series with an ending before the show even airs. That way there wouldn't be so many disappointed viewers. Or, would that hamper their "creativity"?

No shows are cancelled simply because they ran out of scripts. Nor are they continued out of fear of disappointing a handful of viewers.

The Red Road needed more viewers and more buzz—anything to justify a bigger financial commitment from the network and thereby be able to afford to hold onto essential staff and cast, all of whom need to be working to survive.

Why on earth would you put the word creativity in quotes? Are you suggesting that writing a successful series is easy? I'm curious, what hit shows have you written lately?

Some Bullsh*t. Was just getting into the show.

Hope Netflix picks it up.

I just now had time watch the final 2 episodes of season 2 and was quickly reminded of how much I loved this quality show. I came on IMDB, as I do after every movie TV season that I watch, to rate it and maybe post my thoughts, only to see that it was cancelled.

That boggled my mind. This was excellent show. Quality writing and characters. Amazing acting and cast.

It seems like every time I invest my time and my emotional energy into a great show, it's cancelled. Ususally we are left hanging too. But sub-par, empty-headed shows seem to just keep being renewed.

For my own peace of mind, I'm going to try to stick to movies or limited series, or BBC because when they do end their shows, for the most part, they tie up the story or air a final ep/movie to end it properly for the audience.

Sigh... I'll just try to dream up an ending to The Red Road in my mind and just pretend that it happened, to give myself some closure.

A shame since season 2 tightened things up and turned it from a show I watch to one I look forward to watching.

A lot of series now are only made for 4-5 seasons. Just the way TV works these days. Actors and writers like this. It doesn't tie them down for 10 years. Everyone in TV is looking for their Mad Men/Game of Thrones where the huge payout comes in .... And then they never want it to end.
