Season Finale was Amazing! *Spoilers*

It took me a while to process it all...

1. I am absolutely amazed when it comes to Jean. I have been struggling with her character since the beginning, whether I like her or not, whether I care about her. I can solidly say she is my second favorite character on the show, and not because I like her, but because I am completely terrified of her and the constant push and pull. It's like she and Phillip are racing to see who is the deadliest. Three times, three times now, this woman has left someone for dead and it is only this time that she did it completely sane and it was family. 

2. Phillip (my favorite character) showed his multifaceted nature in this one. Protective big brother, buddy cop, murderer, loving son.... I was speechless for twenty minutes after watching him balling over his mom, right after watching him stab a man in the heart. It's official: I can't watch JM cry, I can't handle it.

3. Harold (third favorite) really showed up too. I really love his scenes in the precinct and with his daughters. He is not the Harold we knew from last season. He is not excused AT ALL, but he is making a difference and trying to be better. I wonder how long that'll last when Sky sues the city next season lol

4. I will NOT be happy if Chief Marie dies. You hear me Aaron Guzi?!

Finally, the writing in this show is unbelievable. I believe Aaron Guzikowsky has the credit for the finale, but the writing room must be a treasure trove. My emotions were all over the place. The pacing was impeccable - we spent time with each major character, even Jack's conversation with Marie was well-played and heartbreaking. It foreshadowed the closing image.

Amazing.

i think all the major players brought their a game this episode. except maybe junior(sorry?).

5. jack. wow. from his interactions with harold, asking for the photos. to finding out why he wanted the photos! his whole interaction/intimidation with marie was insane.

6. rachel. the scenes with her mom were intense and when she showed her the bag made me cry, lol. plus she was great with harold and carried junior through their scene(sorry junior?)

and katie was off screen, which was weird considering her grandfather just died, but budget cuts.

i keep telling people about this show but it is a hard sell. i tried to explain the plot of the first season to my mother and even i got confused. then i showed her the trailer and got more confused. lol i said, start watching for the pretty(momoa) and stay for the awesome of everything else.

I'm trying to sell people on this show also. It's awesome! My fear is that it's really going to run out of story material soon. I mean, how much drama can one small town have without turning into a Dukes of Hazard show?

im guessing you have not spent much time on a rez...

I DO CROSSWORD PUZZLES IN PEN CUZ IM JUST THAT CONFIDENT

The very last scene was a horrible. I felt so bad for Philip.

Agreed on all points! Season two was amazing!

Yeah it was AWESOME!!, all my favorite shows have let me down lately, well this season, but The Red Road was the exception!!, so many great plots!!, I also couldn't stand Jean, I know she was suppose to be sick and that's why she was a difficult character to deal with, but now WHO KNOWS!! maybe she's just traumatized for seeing all the abuse her brother was suffering.

Harold, well I wouldn't say that Harold has actually evolved he has been always a strange combination of selfishness with a good heart, maybe just like any other human being.

Jack, well Jack... he's something else!!, I can't really tell if he's the bad guy here, it's so weird, I wonder if he actually loves Phillip, I mean, Phillip must've gotten his personality from someone.

Marie is a hypocrite bitch who takes care of everybody else except the one person who really is her responsibility, yeah I know Phillip is a grown up man now, but if she hasn’t left him when he was a little kid under the custody of such a piece of *beep* as Jack is he wouldn’t be the criminal he is, so I hope she doesn’t die because she has to apologize to her son!!.

I hope she doesn't die because she has to apologize to her son!!

Their last scene together looked like a silent plea for forgiveness & a display of love, just before she dies.

I hope not. I'd really like to see Phillip and Marie have the mother/son relationship they had before she abandoned him (with Jack) to run off with another man.

i watched the series due to momoa and he is the best in it, and i happy to see him being a bad ass for at least one episode. The only other character that really made me like the show was jean... i really cared for her...
