Wow such athmosphere. The movie it reminded me of, was The Others. Anna Walton's performance was every bit as compelling as Kidman's in that movie too.
What leaves this viewer scratching his head is - why the low rating?
This deserves at least a 7. What went wrong for some of you?

I agree, I give it a 7. The movie doesn't play out as I thought it would, which is a good thing imo.

shareI liked it a lot but I wish they had made the ghost a bit more tortured and less physically violent and crazy. Tom Wisdom is a ridiculously attractive actor and between the silly make-up and the over-the-top lunacy of his character at times, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I could have.

Beautiful photography and beautifully shot, great atmosphere.
The setting's atmosphere and the appeal of the lead were the strongest points for me, and were what made this enjoyable overall. I felt that the writing of Tom Wisdom's character and the supporting characters should have been more nuanced. The ghost goes from aloof and intelligent to possessive and nuts a little too quickly, and his dialogue as it happens is a bit too obvious. So I was a little disappointed as the movie unfolded, but I still enjoyed it.
