The Dark Net...

It's legitimately creepy that *beep* like what was shown at the very end actually happens in real life. Obviously not on that grand of a scale (at least in the US) but just research about the dark web and you'll find horrible stories.

Not a perfect movie, I gave it a 6/10, but this kind of horror needs to be shown in theaters. Enough of this tiresome paranormal type *beep*

That's all they are though - stories.

I can assure you the deep web isn't as twisted or exciting as you think.

What about the videos people show?

reply

I've used Tor before. The sort of videos that depict real killings taking place are usually execution videos conducted by warring factions. For example, Sinaloa cartel released a video of them beheading rival members (one via chainsaw, the other with a bowie knife). You can usually find them through clear net just as easily. It's gruesome, but it's not exactly the "murder site" kind of stuff you see in this movie, Untraceable, or Feardotcom.

They aren't just stories. Not long ago, a dark net pedo ring was broken. There are porn sites where they routinely kill animals (kittens...puppies). Do some research. These are the moral filth of humanity.

I've read stories about deep web and this movie is kind of like Scream BiXXH, they find victim in some poor countries, some said they randomly find victim on the street, and torture them then put the video on the internet. Some of the videos are just for sick people to have fun, kind of like youtube, but some make money just like the end of this movie, you pay, you can watch live or full length of the video.
Frankly, this movie isn't scary as the pregnant woman didn't die, it's not violent and bloody enough. If they can let the people pay for what they want to do with the victim on the internet, it would be more similar to the deep web and can be more scary.
Overall, it's just an average horror movie, I gave it the same score: 6/10.

A movie can only be scary to you if it has shock value (pregnant women getting stabbed, blood and guts?

You got *beep* taste mate.

I was sure they were going to have her be murdered as a reference to the murder of Sharon Tate, but to my surprise she stayed alive.

I've treaded lightly in the darknet and I don't plan on going any deeper. Just seeing descriptions in the hidden wiki's links is enough to give me nightmares

why is it creepy? the film didn't even touch on the dark web the *beep* guy paid with his credit card and it seems like he accessed it through the indexed web which is ludicrous. also are we expected to believe that the first girls death would not go viral. nobody even mentioned it really...

reply

Just stories , ignore the bare bollock wannabe kiddies spin trying to act all Leet n *beep*

Nearly everything of interest on unindexed sites is available via standard search engines and has been available for years, gore especially has been everywhere since the internet began.
The stuff that you dont want to see or is illegal, drugs and CP/child porn again has always been available its just that because of its nature it is of course kept hidden/secret.

90% of it is just boring *beep* drugs should be freedom of choice but CP and its "users/customers" should be burnt alive, the rest of the tales are laughable, the gore like mentioned above/below is from many sources, warring drug cartels, war zones , 3rd world dumps but stories like the "Den" ? just bollocks.

Its a good place to visit as long as you are careful and avoid anything CP ( cheese pizza for example CP child porn there are a couple of other hidden titles) but you'll be bored after a few hours.

Not really. Red rooms aren't real. There's more gore and death on the clear net than on the deep web (i.e. rotten, bestgore, etc). Also, I don't think they conducted the selling of the storylines with deaths on the deep web. Probably some site on the clear net?
