cast?

is Richard Ayoade the dad in this?

Yes. Do you like it? I did - can't understand how people have missed some of the cleverness and the good voice acting and instead choose to focus on the fact that it might copy some things from family guy - if anything, it reminds me more of 'stressed eric' a UK animation from about 10 years ago - so if anything it is not copying from american shows, but working off the tradition of things we already made here.

To be fair the things you have mentioned here are staples for dozens of tv-shows, present and past, including a whole host that were about long before Family Guy. For example I seem to remember a little show called the Simpsons which made us laugh both through poking fun at celebrity culture and by including ample incidences of ''over the top physical comedy''. The Simpsons also featured a dysfunctional family unit, but then this idea wasn't any newer to the Simpsons creators than it was to the dudes who created Family Guy. *beep*, it was even Old Skool when Shakespeare was doing his thing.

I'm not saying you are wrong not to have liked it (not yet anyway as I haven't quite made up my own mind lol), but the idea that this show is a copy of Family Guy just doesn't hold up to much scrutiny in my honest opinion. Bar the very superficial similarities which have been highlighted here and elsewhere I'd say these shows are about as different as you can really get whilst still remaining in the same sub-section of the same genre. Family guy tends to focus on a more abstract type of humour, with the jokes generally having little to do with the plot. It also tends to be fairly silly and slap stick in nature, but generally upbeat. Full breakfast on the other hand is much more in line with older British sitcoms and cartoons from the 90's and 2000's. Whilst it is still crude (personally I found it to be even cruder than Family Guy) and silly at times the jokes generally tend to be a little bit more intelligent and the feel of things is just that little bit darker.

At the end of the day it wouldn't even really matter if this was a complete rip off of Family Guy (which of course was only even a cross between South Park and the Simpsons lol) so long as the jokes are funny and the characters interesting and enjoyable, and you know what, I thought they were.

Agree with you

Talking of being crude, did you notice the sheep ambling by the scene of the accident in the first episode with human hand prints on its hind quarters?

Hi yeah I do like it. I think you have to remember that Fam Guy is what we've all been watching for the last 10 years so its really hard not to draw comparisons I can remember when Fam guy first came out we all said I copied the Simpsons and it did! This is just how tv shows like these evolve. I totally see the stressed Eric thing.

It's crp. Not because it copies family guy. It's just crp.
