I have seen the original where Angela befriends Nev.
I have seen the first or second episode of the series but apparently this show goes on for 5 or 6 seasons so there are a lot of cases.

2 questions.

Are there any episodes where the online person is real and not a catfish. The real deal?

Are there any episodes where the person faked out and the online catfish end up in a relationship anyway. The duped person still likes enough of what they see to forgive and move ahead?

Yes and yes.
There was even one episode where Nev and Max figured out that the catfisher and catfishee set them up to basically be able to meet (free air flight and whatnot).
Lots of crazy stuff happens on this show!
