TV series? What is this?

ANY information would be nice. A budget of 33 million? I imagine this is going to be pretty big, maybe just not on AMerican tv?

reply

$33 million is for an entire 22-episodes season: $1,5 million per episode.

"Rescue 3" is a syndicated TV series centered on Southern California’s elite multi-agency task force Rescue 3, which consists of the cream-of-the-crop from Los Angeles Lifeguard, Firefighter and Coast Guard agencies. Each episode will center on big-action rescues involving all three services. Lundgren will play Captain John Mathews, a reluctant hero and career firefighter and lifeguard who leads a highly specialized unit made up of experts in air, fire and water rescue.

Yes, Rescue 3 is the hail mary pass to bring back the wonderful syndicated television market that was all the rage of the 90s. It's possible it may yet flourish for sake of new foreign markets. I, for one, am planning on being a big fan.

Which network is going to air this?

reply

it's syndicated which means it's sold directly to the stations at the local level...

it'll likely air on weekends anywhere between 6am Saturday and 3am Monday... and depending on your local TV market Might actually air on multiple stations as your CBS Affiliate might put it on Saturday night after the news (opposite SNL) while an independent station might put it on Sunday Primetime (opposite 60 minutes) and a 3rd station could theoretically put it at Noon on Saturdays instead of infomercials

back in the 90s (and possibly still today) there used to be conventions where the Producers and other Entertainment types would essentially set up booths and pitch their wares to convince station owners to buy their stuff... like the TV equivalent of a Home Remodeling show at your local Convention/Civic Centers

Syndication has kind of thinned out over the last few years after the heyday it experienced in the Early 90s (Baywatch, Hercules, Xena, Highlander) as most stations opted to fill their weekend schedule holes with Re-Runs of Procedurals they found less need for 'original content'

What is this? A train wreck, plain and simple.
