Does anybody know is they're re-making ALL the seasons of Yamato, or...

...just the first season?

I can't believe I haven't heard of this until just now, instead of when it started coming out in 2012. Woops. heheh. yup, been hiding under a rock, I guess.

I watched Star Blazers back in the late 70s or early 80s when it was shown on WGN. Guess when I first heard of this version?

I don't know what's a sig. line? Can't think of one! Can you tell me what one is?

I don't believe that they intend to remake all the series. They have taken a number of things from the later series and added them into this one, which seems to indicate that it will only be this series, but that they wanted to homage/include popular things from the later ones. The dimensional sub, for example, is from the Bolar Wars, and the Gatlantis ships and people, which are from the Comet Empire, appear as well, but it doesn't look like they are as major a power here. There are also changes to some characters and events that occur in the 2199 series that would make some elements of the later series impossible to do. In fact, Bolar Wars as a whole is right out at this point by the end of 2199.

They confirmed Yamato 2202 a couple of months ago.. series is in production now and it will the remake of season 2 (the comet empire arch)

some production schematics and drawings are arround showing Gatlantis ships and stuff like characters) and there is interviews about how is going to be roughly.. but they wont make spoilers or tell much yet

the biggest question is how are they are going to play.. are they going to kill the entire crew like in the original? what role will play Desler and Gamillas now (since Gamillas is still arround.. its population and most of military still working and Desler is a sworn enemy of the Gatlantis..wich wont grant him the emperor's favor like in the original)

The new series is expected to premiere in 2017
