I'm hoping this isn't considered the sequel to Donnie Yen's Ip Man. It just doesn't fit unless he's actually in the film. Not sure what Anthony Wong is doing in this. I haven't see "The Grandmaster" yet. They are definitely trying to cash in on Ip Man popularity because the two movies Donnie Yen made, was huge hits in Asia. They set some box office records over there, so that's why we have all these movies.

From what I gathered, there is only Ip Man (2008), Ip Man 2 (2010) and Ip Man Zero (2010).
I don't think the Wong Kar Wei movie ("The Grandmaster") is connected to those mentioned above.
This new one here also seems to be separate from the others.
Late to the topic but it's three different series. Ip Man & Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster with Donnie Yen are one series, with a third flick coming at some point. The Legend is Born-Ip Man (aka Ip Man Zero) and Ip Man: The Final Fight are another. The Grandmaster is the first in a new series.
