Just saw on Netflix... question

I was pretty tired when I watched this and nodded off a couple of times so I probably don't have a grasp of the entire movie. The timeline jumping didn't help either...

The visions of the little girl running through grassy fields. At the end, she runs up to a woman by a river, hands her a ring... My wife told me that the ring was the one that the musician gave to his gf. So, what was happening here exactly?
Was this some bizarre dying vision of the gf? Was it a glimpse of the future after the pandemic? If so, any guesses as to how this ring ended up in the hands of the little girl?
