So, why was Batman in this?

I honestly don't get it. He had no business being there at all and he contributed nothing to the overall plot. Yes, I know, we all like Batman. But I mean come on. Putting him in just for the sake of it is going to ruin the character.

Do you think they could make a movie like this without Batman?

reply

Most of the audience knows nothing about this new group so the easy process of connecting the JL with JLD is the history with Bruce Wayne has and Zatanna. It does not hurt to have Batman along the ride, he is not the main focus. If you think this will ruin Batman's character then I guess you haven't seen what they have done to him for the last 70+ years.

Yes they could have made this without Batman but it'll make alot less money and for some it'll be less entertaining, that's business.

But will it really change the economic outcome of the movie?
It feels that the kind of people who are still buying movies are the kind of people who collect DC or collect Comics and would have bought it anyway.

reply

The movie starts out with the regular Justice League realizing that there are supernatural threats that are beyond their abilities. It naturally falls to Batman with his extensive contacts to bring in a team of experts in the occult.

Correct. Also Batman says in the comics that Constantine is someone who gets the job done, no matter the sacrifice. So he is the Batman of/for (dark) magic. Constantine is a unique character but i just wanted to stereotype Constantine from my point of view.

Exactly!

Still it wasn't needed as he wasn't even close to assembling them until Deadman arrived so if they had kept the intro the same even kept the League in it then had it so instead of the league watching and reviewing the footage it was being mystically shown the events to him by the goddess, after tasking him with the mission he could have gone straight to Zatanna who could have taken him to John.

reply

Exactly. That was the reason why he was in the movie.

reply

Well lets see batman is normally depicted as the coolest of the league an the smartest.hes is one dude who can by himself beat the entire league an he even beat the hell out of superman in bvs.So the question isnt why is he here its when will he appear next

reply

an he even beat the hell out of superman in bvs.

Which was utterly stupid, and nonsense. You could have mentioned Bats beat the crap out of Supes in TDKR, which is more cooler, and makes sense. Anyway, love to see Batman but..wish we could have more of Swamp Thing rather than the Bat himself.

How the name, "Martha" brought out the real Batman

Warner Bros. Animation's James Tucker has hinted at more Swamp Thing in the future, and not just in Justice League Action.

^ This.

reply

Because he's Batman. Im a Batman fan but he wasnt needed here and they keep over-using him.

Im also a big fan of Swamp Thing and it bothered me that he didnt get alot of screentime (of course because Batman was there).

reply

While Batman may not be the strongest of superheroes, you have to admit that he is the most popular and iconic of them all, not to mention he's literally the face DC. You can almost say that DC (aka Detective Comics) is named after him, as he's a detective. Superman and Wonder Woman are up there with him, making the 3 of them the trinity of the Justice League, but Batman has always ranked higher.

reply

Wonder Woman is popular by appearance but she doesnt have a heavy fanbase.

reply

She's the most popular/well-known/successful superheroine.

reply

Yup that about sums it up.
